The Ourense Film Festival opened its 29th edition with the world premiere of ‘El eco de otras voces’, a documentary that traces the life and career of Galician designer Adolfo Domínguez. The feature film, directed by Adriana Domínguez, the designer’s daughter and company president since 2020, marks the starting point for its national and international distribution planned for 2025.

A multifaceted portrait of the creator of ‘Wrinkles are beautiful’

The film reconstructs Adolfo Domínguez’s professional trajectory from his childhood in the village of Trives to his youth in Paris. The documentary addresses the figure of the designer who revolutionized Spanish fashion with his iconic slogan “Wrinkles are beautiful” and recovered linen as a signature fabric. The company describes the process as “a cinephile’s adventure” with a strong artistic vision.

Galician production with international ambition

‘El eco de otras voces’ is a production by the Adolfo Domínguez Foundation—created ten years ago with the mission of promoting the arts, science and health—and has had our collaboration in the production.
During the opening gala, Adriana Domínguez expressed her “enormous excitement” about the premiere after almost two years of work. The director highlighted the presence of Galicia, Trives and the Seminary in the footage, underlining the designer’s bond with his roots.

Over half a century of signature fashion

Adolfo Domínguez founded his company in 1973 based on the family tailoring business. Today the firm has more than 362 points of sale in 24 countries and continues under the leadership of Adriana Domínguez, who combines the executive presidency of the brand with her role as a filmmaker.

The documentary was screened on September 29 at the Teatro Principal in Ourense and on October 1 at Cines Pontevella, before its commercial release scheduled for 2025.
